FAQ

HANDMADE How is it made?

Every product at Clay Table is handmade. This means no molds, no casts, no factory-made or manufactured forms. We lean into the subtle variation that comes with making clay forms using just our hands. We embrace the organic nature of the materials and all the nuance that comes along with working in clay.

SHIPPING How is it shipped? Why is it so expensive?

Shipping is always a tough variable when moving ceramic materials. As you know, ceramic, although beautiful and utilitarian, is still a rather breakable material. It requires double boxing, which makes moving and shipping for a small business rather difficult and pricey. That said, we try our best to be as competitive as possible with our shipping fees. Items are shipped in 5-10 business days using ground shipping.

PROCESS What’s unique about your process?

Clay Table makes all its work in a garage studio by hand. Each individual form bears the marks of its creator. The forms are trimmed by hand, giving a carved texture to the bottom. This is our signature look, and we repeat this process throughout our entire collection, to bring continuity to the Clay Table product line. We want our wares to be easily recognizable.

ACCESS Can I come over and check it out?

Clay Table currently builds and creates in a private studio located in Goshen, Indiana. We are more than open to local customers and visitors, but scheduling a visit is important. If you’d like to schedule a studio tour or meet the artist, please inquire at our contact section here on the site.

AFFILIATIONS Do you have a brick and mortar storefront?

We are always looking to partner and expand our reach with wholesalers and retail partners. We currently have three locations that sell wares made in our studio. One in Phoenix Arizona at the store “Cave and Post” and one local spot in Goshen with a talented designer at her studio, Shalmai Interiors + Designs. We just added a third in Winona Lake, IN at the shop Belove.

E-COMMERCE What should I know about this website?

We are really excited to offer our work to a wider audience through our online presence. We want to share with you all our signature mugs, cups, bowls, candles, canteens, and many other great products. It is also a goal of ours to set up a section on the site for our more creative endeavors that will either be a very limited artist series or a completely unique one-off clay creation (1 to 1). Check out all our shop tabs to see what we have in-stock for you. We will be updating this website regularly, so follow our various social media accounts to stay on top of all ongoing features, shop updates, and fresh new products.
